- Applied experience in manufacturing and assembly process
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
- Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations

Job Description
You will be the Manufacturing Engineer for the Precision Fires Manufacturing Engineering team. Our team is responsible for delivering advanced manufacturing solutions that drive program success. The role combines hands on production responsibilities—such as leading line validations, providing on site supplier support, and managing tooling—with higher level program tasks like BOM planning, make/buy analysis, and cross functional cost reduction initiatives. You will thrive in a fast paced environment, build strong relationships across engineering, supply chain, and operations, and develop project management expertise while advancing manufacturability, efficiency, and quality throughout the program lifecycle.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for bridging hands‑on production execution with strategic program initiatives.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Lead Production Line Validation events at Lockheed Martin and supplier sites, evaluating Notification of Change documents.
- Create and maintain Manufacturing Engineering Statements of Work, Make/Buy analyses, and related trade studies; manage design Change Requests (CRs) and Engineering Change Notices (CNs).
- Support tooling development, afford‑ability studies, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the primary Production Operations liaison for suppliers, proactively identifying issues before they impact production.
- Provide engineering input for proposals, cost‑reduction strategies, and low‑rate production readiness.
- Participate in technical interchange meetings with suppliers and customers, and support the hourly/union workforce as needed.
- Travel periodically to supplier facilities and other Lockheed Martin sites to ensure alignment and resolve manufacturing challenges.

- Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt)
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to liaison between LM Subcontractors, internal disciplines, and LM shop(s)
