Role Overview:
We are seeking a Data Operations Engineer to support enterprise data governance, quality, and compliance initiatives across federal and DoD environments. This role works at the intersection of data engineering, cybersecurity, and analytics—partnering with AI/ML teams, enterprise architects, and cyber leaders to establish a secure, compliant single source of truth for enterprise data used in mission-critical decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 4–6 years of experience (or Master’s + 2–4 years) in data engineering, data operations, or governance
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes
- Experience with data governance, data quality, and metadata management in enterprise environments
- Working knowledge of federal data regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, DoD data handling)
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to varied stakeholders
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise data governance and stewardship, ensuring compliance with CMMC Level 2, NIST, and federal data protection standards
- Design, build, and support automated ETL/ELT pipelines across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources
- Implement data quality, validation, and metadata management frameworks to support analytics and AI/ML initiatives
- Monitor and audit data usage to meet regulatory requirements for CUI/FOUO data
- Support hybrid data platforms, including Azure Government, on-prem systems, and enterprise storage solutions
- Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, engineering, and business teams to enforce data standards, documentation, and best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance or prior DoD/federal data environment experience
- Experience with Azure Gov/GCC-High, AWS GovCloud, or modern cloud data platforms
- Exposure to tools such as Airflow, Kafka, data catalogs, graph databases, or CI/CD pipelines
- Data governance or cloud certifications (CDMP, DGSP, Azure, AWS, GCP)

Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
