We are seeking a motivated Electrical Designer or Electrical Engineer to assist in the design of electrical systems including power, lighting, and low-voltage systems (including fire alarm, data, and security systems) using AutoCAD and/or Revit. This role will work in collaboration with Systems Designers and Engineers to develop electrical system designs for various building projects. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and passionate about electrical design within the MEP industry.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze hand sketches, layouts, and engineer notes to determine the best approach for completing drawings.
- Perform load calculations, voltage drop calculations and short-circuit analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Develop electrical one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and lighting layouts.
- Create, modify, and detail drawings using company, client, and industry standards.
- Participate in site visits and field investigations to support design efforts.
Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Applied Science in Architectural or Mechanical Computer Aided Drafting and Design, or a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Building Systems Design.
License/Certification:
- P.E. (preferred, but not required)
Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Basic Knowledge of Codes including NEC and electrical engineering principles, and ICC codes and NFPA standards is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to produce accurate and high-quality work while adhering to company CAD standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Commitment to mentoring and developing technical staff.
- Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with designers, department heads, and project managers.
- Willingness to take direction, grow within the company, and develop proficiency in building codes applicable to electrical design.

Pay: $55,435.00 - $86,278.00 per year
