Job Summary
The SEO Senior Consultant plays a pivotal role in supporting the Strategy and Development team’s strategic initiatives by ensuring seamless operational efficiency across client support, project management, and business development. This position requires a proactive and organized professional with strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the company’s services and internal workflows.
Key responsibilities of this role include product and project management responsibilities, ensuring that key company initiatives align with business goals by overseeing tasks, resources, and deliverables using the company’s project management system.
This is a dynamic role requiring adaptability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to help drive the company’s success. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in client-facing SEO fulfillment roles (specialist, consultant, analyst, etc.) and demonstrable expertise and technical SEO skills.
As with any close working relationship, excellent communication skills are a must. You approach challenges with a positive attitude and direct communication. You will report to the Head of the Strategy & Development department.
This position is in office (hybrid eligible), though there may be times where remote work is permitted should the candidate demonstrate excellent time management and an approved dedicated home environment work space that supports effective remote work.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
Company Services
Understand all company services and products offered in order to be an effective support for the web development team while directly providing client-facing SEO services:
- Client Support and Customer Support
- General understanding of various client issues
- Cancellation process

- Proposal updating and content creation
Development of SEO Services and SEO Collateral Support
Using your understanding of company services and products to develop content, collateral, and SOP materials to fulfill client-facing SEO services and support the Web Development team:
- Review and recommend additional improvements to SEO services
- Develop internal SEO SOP documentation
- Create content for SEO project tasks and timelines
- Content creation for SEO proposals, business development assets, and presentations
- Internal and external assets for SEO services
- Website content for SEO services
- Blog content as it relates to SEO services
- Social media content as it relates to SEO services
SEO Project Management
As this role will be directly communicating with the client and other internal assets, understanding and proper usage of internal project management systems is required. This role will require:
- An understanding of the company's core project management system, ClickUp
- Obtain project management training certification (ClickUp)
- Assign and manage SEO tasks and deliverables to meet goals and objectives
- Recommend, develop, improve, and implement additional SEO project management templates and tasks
- Manage tasks and projects with effectiveness and ease in ClickUp
- Serve as an auxiliary support role on projects and tasks as assigned in ClickUp
- Manage assigned resources
SEO Services Fulfillment
Using your understanding of company services and products to develop content, collateral, and SOP materials to fulfill client-facing SEO services and support the Web Development team:
- Strategy & Best Practice Development:
- Develop, document, and maintain the company's official SEO best practices guidelines covering technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, and keyword research.
- Optimize for: AI search, AI overview, and AI’s impact on search, in general.
- Continuously sets and achieves learning objectives regarding AI and AI’s influence on SEO and search engines, in general
- Continuously refine and update SEO strategies based on industry trends, algorithm updates, and performance data.
- Create tailored, data-driven SEO strategies for individual clients based on their specific organizational goals, keywords, target audience, and competitive landscape.
- Recommend and implement SEO strategies related to AI search results
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish benchmarks for measuring SEO success for clients.
- Develop and facilitate sales conversations, balancing client needs and budget with available resources and offerings
- Client Management & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding all SEO activities and performance.
- Conduct initial client consultations and initial strategy meetings to understand goals, challenges, and expectations.
- Clearly communicate SEO strategies, planned activities, timelines, and required inputs and deliverables to clients.
- Present findings, performance reports, and strategic recommendations to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
- Ensure all client communications are properly documented and noted as required by department standards and directed by department leads.
- Manage client expectations and proactively address any questions or concerns.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients.
- Keyword Research & Content Strategy:
- Perform comprehensive keyword research to identify opportunities, analyze search intent, and assess keyword competitiveness using various SEO tools (e.g., GTmetrics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Keyword Planner).
- Analyze ranking competitor SEO strategies, keywords, and content to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Develop content recommendations and content briefs based on keyword research and strategic goals to guide content creation (either by the client or internal teams).
- Advise clients on optimizing existing website content for target keywords and improving user experience.
- Identify opportunities for new content creation (blog posts, landing pages, service pages) to drive relevant search traffic and overall user engagement.
- On-Page SEO (Direct Fulfillment):
- Optimize core on-page elements, including title tags, meta descriptions, header tags (H1, H2, etc.), and image alt text.
- Implement internal linking strategies to improve site navigation, distribute link equity, and support content hierarchy.
- Ensure content readability and proper keyword integration within website copy.
- Conduct on-page audits and implement necessary optimizations directly (where feasible, without developer intervention).
- Technical SEO (Management & Oversight):
- Utilize third-party SEO reporting systems (e.g., Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, SEMrush Site Audit, Google Search Console) to conduct technical SEO audits and identify client website issues.
- Analyze technical factors including site speed, mobile-friendliness, crawlability, indexability, site architecture, structured data markup, robots.txt, and XML sitemaps.
- Prioritize technical SEO tasks based on potential impact and client goals.
- Translate technical SEO requirements into clear, actionable tasks for the offshore development team to be assigned as determined by department leads.
- Manage the workflow and communication with the offshore developer, providing guidance, answering questions, and ensuring tasks are understood and completed accurately.
- Verify the implementation of technical fixes and monitor their impact on site health and performance.
- Monitor Google Search Console for errors, warnings, and performance insights, and manage necessary actions.
- Address and assign tasks/issues related to duplicate content, canonicalization, and implement redirect strategies (e.g., .htaccess file 301 redirects) as needed.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Set up, monitor, and analyze website performance using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other relevant SEO platforms.
- Track key SEO metrics including organic traffic, keyword rankings, conversion rates, bounce rates, backlinks, and technical site health.
- Prepare regular, comprehensive SEO performance reports for clients, highlighting progress, insights, and actionable recommendations.
- Integrate reporting into CI’s client dashboard and monthly reporting system.
- Interpret data trends to inform ongoing strategy adjustments and identify new opportunities.
- Collaboration & Continuous Learning:
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams (if applicable, e.g., content writers, designers) to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into workflows.
- Maintain direct and efficient communication channels with the offshore development team for technical task fulfillment.
- Stay current with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, industry best practices, and emerging tools through continuous learning (blogs, webinars, conferences).
- Provide company ongoing trainings (as needed) on SEO services and how-to guides to ensure cross departmental understanding and cohesiveness in service delivery.
- Attend meetings, provide support, resources, and consulting for the Business Development and Operation teams as related to organizations interested in SEO and SEO services.
General Understanding of Websites and CMS Platforms
- Website/CMS
- Understands how to overcome general WordPress login issues (e.g., password resets, identifying lockout causes) as it relates to SEO and their access
- Able to identify standard WordPress errors (e.g., caching issues, White Screen of Death, database connection errors, 404 errors) by performing defined initial diagnostic steps.
- Able to help users understand and resolve common content display issues.
- Detailed understanding of hosting service and performance as it relates to SEO services and site rankings
- Assist clients with understanding and managing hosting performance upgrades to help with site performance as it relates to SEO services.
- Ensure clients understand resource usage (disk space, bandwidth) and locate usage statistics as it relates to their site performance, as it relates to SEO services.
- Perform basic website loading speed checks using the provided tools and offer initial common recommendations related to SEO and site performance.
- Internal Processes & Escalation:
- Identify issues requiring escalation to internal or external (depending on hosting location) for WordPress support (e.g., complex server configurations, advanced debugging, security incidents, hardware issues).
- Clearly document the troubleshooting steps already taken before escalating tickets.
- Follow established internal support workflows and procedures as set by department Leads.
- Utilize and contribute to the internal knowledge base by documenting common issues and solutions.
- Stay informed about platform updates, ongoing incidents, and common support trends.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Client Billing Processes
Understand the basics of our billing processes as it relates to client SEO and Hosting services:
- Understand corresponding SEO/Hosting services SKU’s and pricing
- General billing cycles for SEO/Hosting services

Compensation & Classifications
Financial Compensation
This position offers a total compensation range starting at $47,500 -*$58,500 (plus bonuses/commission) a year. We also offers additional commission opportunities and a $500* Christmas/Holiday bonus that is paid annually, along with our robust benefits package given to all full-time employees.
Classifications
Status: This position is classified as a full-time, exempt, salaried role.
Travel Percentage: This position requires 5% or less of travel annually, with advanced notice given for all required trips.
Work Schedule: This position is classified as a full-time position, with 9 hours of expected work each day. The posted schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM with one half hour of unpaid time each day to be taken for lunch, and (2) paid fifteen-minute breaks to be taken as workflow permits.
- Any deviation from this schedule (scheduled time off, holiday time, unscheduled time off) must be documented prior to commencement, via the company’s Time Off Calendar, email communication, or phone conversations.
- This position may be eligible for hybrid work-from-home and in-office benefit (based on performance and requires approval), as outlined in the employee handbook, whereas the employee may be able to work a “hybrid work schedule” so long as they are in excellent standing with their tasks and responsibilities and, said schedule, will not negatively impact client and company responsibilities.
