Sun City Hilton Head Community Association - a multi award winning Large Scale Del Webb Active Adult Community in beautiful Hilton Head, South Carolina - seeks a Communications Associate that will be responsible for executing the work necessary to build, maintain, and support a robust, multi-faceted and timely communication program for the Sun City Hilton Head Community Association, Inc. (SCHHCA). You’ll impress our 15,000+ residents/owners with your media publications that will enhance the Sun City Hilton Head Lifestyle experience.

Position Summary:
Primarily responsible to execute the work necessary to build, maintain, and support a robust, multi-faceted, and timely communication program for the Sun City Hilton Head Community Association, Inc. (SCHHCA).
Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and bi-weekly email communications: City Fit, City Golf, Clubs & Groups, and Neighborhood News.
- Create and upload graphics for monthly events (e.g., Live by the Lake), weekly Instagram posts, etc.
- Assist in preparing monthly Instagram content calendar and schedule posts.
- Respond to, upload and organize resident submitted photos for publications.
- Write captions for resident photo features for the community’s monthly magazine, SunSations.
- Compile directory information for SunSations.
- Update digital signage located around the community with timely and accurate messaging.
- Prepare monthly event calendars for website and email communications.
- Prepare updates to annual publications using InDesign.
- Assist in proofreading and editing emails, SunSations, and various other publications.
- Create monthly analytics reports for website, Instagram, emails and video and suggest actionable insights from the analytics reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Possess superior communication skills with strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities, as well as familiarity with APA formatting style.
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organization and planning skills with the ability to think ahead, prioritize, and plan, often with restrictive or competing deadlines.
- Ability to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and maintain a positive demeanor.
- Ability to work independently or with other departments and the resident population.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferred experience with Adobe InDesign, Mailchimp and Smartsheet.
- Experience with Instagram and content scheduling tools.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to interact with residents, staff, and customers.
- Must be capable of operating a computer, printer, and telephone.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Must have reliable transportation, as this is an onsite position.
Experience Required:
High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of full time, paid, professional experience working in communications, marketing, or journalism or a Bachelor's degree in a related filed and one (1) year of full time, paid, professional experience working in communications, marketing, or journalism.

Pay: $24.75 per hour
