WOO design is the Los Angeles studio of London based WOO architects, a company created by the team that led the design of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. WOO specializes in designing and delivering permanent and temporary facilities and developing transformative experiences for global events. WOO are looking for designers and architects to grow their team in LA.
Position Overview
We are looking for junior designers or architects to join our team. Our ideal candidate is passionate about sport and events, pro-active and self-motivated with excellent design and problem-solving skills and a great communicator. They will need to be able to work quickly and efficiently and be eager to learn. They should be through, organised and flexible to support on diverse areas of work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage, produce and issue project documentation including detailed drawings, schedules and reports, adhering to agreed drawing and graphic standards.
- Build close relationships with clients, stakeholders and end users to ensure that requirements are understood and integrated into designs.
- Research, evaluate and develop solutions to architectural problems. Advise on the most appropriate design response to satisfy all constraints and opportunities.
- Work to agreed deadlines, allowing time for internal reviews.
- Report on progress to project leads at regular intervals.
- Track design changes using agreed processes.
- Collaborate closely with teams of other professionals such as engineers and construction managers as well as clients.
- Assess and comment on recommendations and information from other project consultants.
- Attend and report from site meetings as required and check on progress.
Skills & Requirements
- Professional degree in a related subject
- A high level of competency with Revit - minimum of 2 years demonstrable professional experience
- Proficiency in other design software, including AutoCAD, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
You must be available to work from our office in downtown Los Angeles and on site and have authorization to work in the United States.
