GMS is looking to add a open-pit Mine Engineerin Fallon, NV. This position is 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts, but must be willing to work after hours when needed. Pay will be based off industry knowledge.
Reporting to the Mine Engineering Manager, this position is to assist with the coordination, scheduling, cost control and planning of the mine operations. The qualified candidate will be accountable for providing safe and effective mine engineering services, including but not limited to mine design, layout, reporting, environmental conditions monitoring, and rock mechanics evaluation and data retrieval. This role is a critical interface with Maintenance, Capital, Management, Mine Development and Mine Production groups.
Excellent Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact with respective Supervisors/Contractors, Engineers and Planners. Supervisory experience is an asset and ability to incorporate risk analysis in all work assigned.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a major in Civil, Environmental, Mining or related engineering discipline required
· 2+ years of open-pit engineering experience
· Mining and heavy construction experience with exposure to environmental and safety compliance and management elements. Demonstrated engineering and design experience.
· Microsoft Office experience required. Emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
· Applicable plant operations software experience
· Experienced with Auto Cad
· Experienced with
Rock Mechanics and Mine Design
