Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and develop manufacturing and quality control processes for high volume consumer electronic projects. Review and assess manufacturing process capabilities using data solutions including process capability analysis and metrology solutions including direct/indirect methods. Develop, test and review metrology solutions with local and international suppliers. Develop, test and review cosmetic, dimensional and functional testing procedures for manufactured parts by contracts and manufacturing partners. Develop and review part cosmetic quality by developing metrology solutions to quantity and categorize quality and work with design teams to set specs for process quality control. Partner with multi-functional teams including design, manufacturing, safety, reliability and supply managers to evaluate designs and processes at the concept phase for mass production feasibility. Drive improvement actions as needed, multifunctionally with internal and external team members including design, manufacturing, safety and reliability. Compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications. Work with internal and external groups including design, manufacturing, safety, reliability and contracted vendors to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product. Use statistics and mechanical knowledge including descriptive and inferential methods, to identify gaps in testing and manufacturing processes to drive actions to improve process yields and ensure a higher quality product. Establish audit procedures appropriate to program and suppliers to ensure consistency of quality standards for parts. International travel required: 25%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,200 - $236,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- Experience and/or education must include:
- Analyzing supplier quality engineering and measurement system.
- Interpreting and using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), reviewing and setting manufacturing drawings callouts.
- Knowledge of Project Management, including organizing manufacturing quality activities using Phase Gate Methodology.
- Knowledge of design fixtures, including knowledge of testing and measurement of manufacturing components.
