What You Will Do
We're looking for Background Painters to join an unannounced series at Disney Television Animation! In this role you will be responsible for making thoughtful color choices regarding the lighting, environment, tone, and atmosphere of each assigned scene.
- Work closely with Art Director and/or Background Paint Lead to apply color, textures and details to approved background designs
- Reference color keys established by Color Stylist to adhere to show style and guidelines
- Further the storytelling process using color, design and sense of light
- Adhere to the production schedule provided by Line Producer to ensure cost effective, timely production
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Ability to align with style and sensibility of show
- Ability to translate reference into 2D art
- A portfolio demonstrating your ability to design and paint in a variety of styles
- Knowledge of drawing software that includes Photoshop, Illustrator, Harmony and 3D technology, where applicable
- Positive attitude with the ability to be flexible
- Excellent organizational, verbal, written, e-social skills and acumen
Education
- Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
Job Location
This is a fully on-site role based in Glendale, CA.
The pay rate for this role in California is $59.16 to $64.62 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
