General Summary
The
Social Media Associate is responsible for bringing the Steve Madden brand to life across social media platforms. Working closely with our Senior Social Media Manager, this person assists with day-to-day channel management, content creation, and cross-functional collaboration to elevate Steve Madden’s organic social presence and generate channel growth and engagement.

Specific Job Skills
CHANNEL MANAGEMENT
- Maintain and update the content calendar across all social platforms, supporting brand marketing while developing platform-specific content ideas
- Schedule and publish posts through Dash Social, ensuring all product tags and details are accurate
- Manage Steve Madden's social community through DMs and comments
- Write social media captions for @stevemadden’s Instagram and TikTok posts, and other owned brands as needed
CONTENT CREATION
- Create and execute content across platforms, focusing on weekly short-form videos for TikTok and Reels, as well as behind-the-scenes content from shoots and social content days
- Attend photoshoots and influencer events to capture content as/when needed
- Create engaging, brand-aligned Instagram Stories with innovative design elements
PERFORMANCE TRACKING & REPORTING
- Analyze post and campaign performance data, develop weekly and monthly reports, and provide actionable insights to improve content output
SOCIAL LISTENING
- Monitor social media creator and influencer trends, collaborating with PR/Influencer team on campaign and gifting opportunities
- Perform weekly social trend audit to pitch relevant content ideas for organic channels
Additional Responsibilities
- Nurture relationships with influencers, content creators, and brand friendlies via DMs and in-person events
- Coordinate with external teams for necessary approvals
- Act as a brand ambassador and liaison, ensuring clear communication and alignment with brand values
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Minimum of 1-2+ years of experience in social media, preferably within fashion, beauty, or lifestyle brands or a similar agency environment
- A deep understanding of major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Youtube, Pinterest) and their respective audiences, features, and best practices
- Experience running and scaling at least one brand social channel, including posting, community management, and reporting
- An eye for creating engaging, culturally relevant, social-first content
- Proficiency in social media management tools (Dash Social preferred, or similar)
- Ability to spot and stay ahead of trends
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, organization, and relationship management skills
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $55,000-$65,000. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
