Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation (EPEDC), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving Carter, Dawson, Fallon, Prairie, and Wibaux counties, is seeking a full-time Community Development Specialist (CDS). The CDS is responsible for facilitating community projects that contribute to successful business operations and vibrant communities and will administer federal, state, or foundation grants.
Main responsibilities include project planning, outreach and research; grant writing; project management; administrative duties, recordkeeping, project budget management and compliance; and providing administrative support related to all activities of EPEDC.
Qualifications include excellent writing, research and project management skills; demonstrated competency in persuasive writing, team collaboration, effective verbal and written communication and attention to detail; working knowledge of state, federal and private grant/loan programs; experience with community planning projects and downtown revitalization; competency in development and tracking of project budgets and financial management; experience with public speaking and group facilitation; and skill in coordinating large, complex projects, meeting deadlines and working effectively under pressure.
Travel is required within the 5-county service area, with occasional overnight travel for meetings, workshops and training.
This position reports directly to the EPEDC Executive Director.
Office location is flexible between Glendive and Baker with the opportunity of hybrid remote work once the probationary period has been completed.
Starting pay is $17-$19.91 per hour depending on experience, with a benefit package including health insurance stipend and contribution to retirement program.
