Allison Ducharme Interior Design is primarily a residential interior design studio serving Southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Our work includes room re-designs and renovation projects of all sizes.
In addition to residential projects, we are taking on new restaurant and potential hotel projects in the coming year and are looking for a designer with proven hospitality experience to support that work.
This is a part-time, as-needed independent contractor position.
There are no guaranteed weekly hours. This role is best suited for someone who already has ongoing work and is looking to add projects, not someone seeking steady or full-time employment.
The Role
We are seeking an Interior Designer with strong design knowledge, hospitality experience, and the ability to manage projects from concept through installation.
You will report directly to Principal Designer, Allison Ducharme, and receive daily and/or weekly direction based on active project needs.
Must be based in the Boston area or Southern New Hampshire so we can attend appointments and site visits together as needed.The Role
Work Structure:
- Mostly remote (work from home and Zoom meetings)
- In-person support as needed for site visits, installations, and meetings
In-Person Meetings: Weekly or Bi-Weekly (project dependent)
On-Site Work: Required for active projects if they are local
Applicant Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited program
- Demonstrated hospitality design experience (restaurants and/or hotels required)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask across multiple active projects
- Strong design knowledge
- Experience in interior design project management
- Professional, confident interaction with clients and contractors
- Reliable car and ability to travel within a 45-minute radius of Pelham, NH (we can discuss this depending on where you live)
Duties
- Assist with interior design projects for hospitality spaces, including hotels and restaurants
- Prepare detailed drawings and construction documents utilizing AutoCAD/CAD
- Knowledge of lighting design and lighting components
- Conduct site visits for inspections, quality control, and to oversee construction activities (when needed), documentation and progress reporting
- Provide guidance on color theory, interior design principles, and space planning to achieve aesthetic excellence
- Site measures, note-taking, and photographing (experience required)
Experience
- Proven experience in interior design within the hospitality sector is required
- Demonstrated project management skills with a portfolio showcasing successful project delivery from concept through completion
- Proficiency in CAD - would need your own software & computer
- Strong knowledge of interior design principles including color theory, remodeling, renovation, construction processes, budgeting, contracts management, and lighting sales
- Familiarity with the full lifecycle of hospitality projects including remodeling and construction phases
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week
