Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Cranberry Twp, PA
Type: Direct-Hire
Compensation: 90-120K
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Oversee engineered-to-order industrial machinery projects from bid to final acceptance. Coordinate across design, manufacturing, and field teams to deliver projects on time and on budget while maintaining customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Direct project phases: initiation, engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, shipping, installation, and closeout
- Serve as primary customer contact throughout project lifecycle
- Develop project documentation including specifications, schedules, and communications
- Monitor and control project scope, budget, and timeline
- Conduct monthly financial reviews and variance analysis
- Lead post-project reviews to identify improvement opportunities
- Travel to customer sites for reviews, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting (40–50% including international)
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure designs meet scope, manufacturability, and cost/schedule targets
- Review drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Respond to technical questions from customers during design reviews and installations
- Apply knowledge of fluid systems, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics to guide projects
- Coordinate with production to align builds with engineering documentation
- Monitor build quality and address non-conformances with engineering and production teams
- Work with procurement to ensure timely, accurate component purchasing
- Resolve supplier issues to prevent delays
- Facilitate communication across engineering, production, procurement, service, and administration
- Resolve cross-departmental conflicts and escalate when appropriate
- Mentor project managers and support PM process standardization
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
- 10–15 years managing projects involving custom-built equipment or capital machinery systems
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of time
- Technical competency in electric motor controls, PLC programming, hydraulic systems, pneumatic circuits, and fluid handling equipment
- Demonstrated experience in design-build project environments with accountability for technical execution
- Background supervising cross-functional teams or project personnel
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Project; familiarity with CAD platforms (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) beneficial
- Background in processing equipment, industrial automation systems, or thermoforming machinery (candidates with comparable capital equipment or machine-building experience will be considered)
- Experience operating within matrix organizational structures or multinational enterprises
