Sample Maker/Design Assistant
Full-Time | Fashion Jewelry and Hair Accessories Company
We are seeking a sample maker/design assistant to join our dynamic fashion Accessories company. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident manipulating and creating jewelry design samples.
Our company designs and manufactures hair accessories, jewelry, and gift items for major department stores and retailers. We’re looking for a sample maker who can support our team with innovative ideas, hands-on sample making, and collaborative product development.
Primary Focus
- Mixing epoxy colors, providing formulas to vendors for colors specified by design
- Correcting samples that are received incorrectly from vendors, may include: gluing, new color layouts, removing/replacing stones, re-epoxy, linking, looping, and/or any other necessary corrections.
- Manipulating jewelry to create samples or variations of samples
- Coordinate plating of samples with external plating sources, expediting and tracking plating orders.
- Makes design proto-type samples for use in determining color placement, lengths, color combinations, etc
- Orders and maintains inventory on component parts needed to complete sample making
- Assist in making sample boards for design meetings, line reviews, account presentations, etc
- Helps with making and distributing cheat sheets and hard pages for all new items in all brands
- Administrative help as necessary
- Tags, cards, and labels showroom and sales samples for market. Helps to maintain sample log noting which sample lines have been completed.

Skills/Remarks:
- Passion for Fashion Jewelry
- Detail oriented, good inter-departmental relations
- Excellent rendering and jewelry manipulating skills
- Knowledge of Jewelry construction and componentry
- Sense of urgency and ability to multi-task – with a positive attitude and confidence.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, time sensitive, and ever-evolving business environment and perform under pressure
- Basic Computer Skills
- Excellent writing and verbal communicating skills
