By mid-day you’re coordinating with operations to ensure precise cutting and on-time delivery, then checking in with Outside Sales and district leadership to share feedback from the field. You wrap up by nurturing a few new prospects you uncovered this week—keeping the pipeline active and customers delighted.
What you’ll do
- Serve as the internal account coordinator for an assigned book of business, owning day‑to‑day activity and follow‑through.
- Win new customers and drive growth plans for existing accounts through consultative selling and effective closing.
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of metals products, processing, and the broader industry.
- Prepare quotes, follow up diligently, and enter clean orders to initiate the sales and distribution process.
- Provide timely feedback on opportunities and market trends to district management and Outside Sales partners.
- Ensure accurate, on‑time delivery with exceptional service quality.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics to resolve issues such as damaged or incorrect material or delivery challenges.
- Deliver personalized customer service that strengthens long‑term relationships and satisfaction.
- Support fellow Inside Sales Representatives with account coverage and development as needed.
What you bring
- 2+ years of prior sales experience (steel/metals industry preferred).
- Clear, confident communication—verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal.
- Competitive drive with a self‑motivated, results‑oriented approach.
- Strong attention to detail and follow‑through.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent training and experience.
