Compensation & Incentives
- Hourly Compensation: Equivalent to $52,000 – $72,800 annually (approximately $25–$35/hour), based on experience, capabilities, and demonstrated skill set
- Bonus Plan: Performance-based bonus tied to sales outcomes and project execution; structure will be discussed and finalized based on the agreed-upon role and responsibilities
Position Overview
We are seeking a Landscaping Designer / Project Coordinator to replace a key team member and support the continued growth of our landscape and outdoor living business. This role is integral to our day-to-day operations and sits at the intersection of design, estimating, customer engagement, and field coordination.
While this is not a primary lead-generation sales role, the position will have significant customer interaction and will play a meaningful role in advancing and closing sales opportunities through strong design presentation, accurate project costing, and clear communication.
Primary Responsibilities Design & Concept Development
- Create landscape and outdoor living designs using 3D design software (experience preferred but not required)
- Candidates without current 3D design proficiency will be considered if they demonstrate a strong desire and ability to learn
- Candidates who can demonstrate the effective use of AI tools for design, visualization, or concept development will be highly considered
Estimating & Proposals
- Perform project costing and job estimates with accuracy and attention to detail
- Generate initial customer proposals for ownership review prior to client presentation
- Ensure pricing aligns with labor expectations, material requirements, and target margins
Customer Engagement & Sales Support
- Maintain regular contact with customers throughout the design and proposal phase
- Participate in sales meetings and presentations as needed
- Support ownership in advancing and closing sales opportunities through clear communication and professional presentation
Project Coordination & Operations
- Coordinate with lead installers and field teams to ensure all required materials, products, and information are available prior to installation
- Clearly communicate job scope, expectations, and sold man-hours to installation teams
- Assist in tracking job-by-job efficiencies to evaluate:
- Accuracy of estimates
- Effectiveness of communication
- Installation productivity and execution
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in ongoing process improvement efforts related to estimating accuracy, communication flow, and operational efficiency
- Support leadership in refining systems that improve profitability and job performance
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
- Comfort working with customers and internal teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to learn new software, tools, and systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with landscape design software (3D preferred)
- Prior experience in landscaping, outdoor living, construction, or design-build environments
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design or visualization tools
- Estimating, proposal writing, or project coordination experience
