What To Expect
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Tooling Design, Simulation, and Process Engineering—to develop and continuously improve complex tooling systems that enable high-volume, precision manufacturing at scale. This role involves taking designs from concept through production, ensuring performance, quality, and manufacturability across a range of advanced applications.
What You'll Do
Lead the CAD development of new and existing tooling systems, including mechanical features such as parting lines, moving components, ejection strategies, and thermal management (e.g., integrated cooling systems and fluid routing)Design custom tools, fixtures, jigs, and related components as needed, and generate detailed models and drawings for fabricationEvaluate tooling and component failures, implement corrective actions, and provide design solutions to enhance equipment reliability and part qualityPartner with Design and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure tooling supports both product requirements and efficient manufacturabilityIncorporate feedback from simulation and process engineering teams to optimize tooling performance and robustnessDrive innovation in tooling architecture to improve uptime, cycle time, and yield, while minimizing riskManage multiple concurrent projects, including collaboration with external suppliers, fabricators, and internal partnersSupport scheduling and execution of tooling design, build, and implementation activities across global manufacturing teams
What You'll Bring
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experienceMechanical design experience with a strong foundation in precision tooling or related systemsProficiency in 3D CAD software (advanced surfacing, large assemblies); CATIA V5 or similar preferredAbility to manage projects across cross-functional teams and external partnersStrong problem-solving skills, hands-on approach, and ability to adapt designs based on field feedback
