Position Description
As a Mechanical Process Engineer, you will learn and develop skills related to sustaining and improving production manufacturing processes and product designs as part of a cross-functional team. This role blends mechanical design, manufacturing support, and process improvement to enable efficient, reliable production of existing and new products. Receive guidance to complete the following:
- Sustain and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Diagnose and resolve manufacturing issues through via root cause analysis and equipment/process troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with engineering, automation, and production teams to identify and implement product design and process efficiency improvement including tooling analysis, manufacturing workflow design, and component design change.
- Develop, maintain, and update engineering documents such as process maps, process FMEAs, manufacturing/quality Instructions, drawings, and test protocols/reports.
- Lead qualification of new product line extension to expand existing product offerings.
- Support new product introduction from development through production.
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided design, preferably SolidWorks.
- Working knowledge of a variety of materials and mechanical designs.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Technical aptitude and detail oriented.
Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred:
- Strong mechanical and technical design skill.
- Familiar with manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with technical writing.
- Understanding of manufacturing and quality standards, including FDA regulations and ISO quality systems.
