Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D shop drawings for:
- Trailer structures
- Interior framing
- Cabinetry
- Electrical and mechanical layouts
- Mounting systems and brackets
- Produce:
- Assembly drawings
- Exploded views
- Cut lists
- Bill of Materials (BOMs)
Manufacturing Coordination
- Work directly with:
- Welders
- Carpenters
- Electricians
- Validate designs against:
- Structural integrity
- Material thickness
- Fastener types
- Clearance and access requirements
- Weight distribution
Engineering Support
- Revise drawings based on:
- Field feedback
- Fit issues
- Production constraints
- Identify and correct:
- Conflicts between systems
- Interference issues
- Structural risks before production begins
Documentation Control
- Maintain drawing revisions
- Support standardization of common assemblies
- Assist in creating reusable modular designs
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in manufacturing-based CAD drafting
- SolidWorks
- Autodesk Inventor
- Fusion 360
- Similar parametric CAD software
- Welding and metal fabrication
- Sheet metal
- Wood or composite construction
- Structural framing
- Shop drawings
- Assembly drawings
- Toleranced parts
Preferred Experience
- Trailer, vehicle upfitting, RV, marine, aerospace, or modular construction experience
- Familiarity with:
- Aluminum structures
- Load paths and bracing
- Mobile equipment vibration and flex
- Experience producing drawings used directly on a shop floor
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
