STAR Turbine is looking for a Sales Engineer to maintain relationships with existing clients and to develop new business within the North American region. Through extensive knowledge of STAR products and services, the Sales Engineer will identify all technical issues of assigned accounts and assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The goal is to articulate technology and product positioning to further develop STAR's products and services within the power generation market. Regular and frequent travel will be required to customer sites to actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to develop business within the North America region - expected to be 30-50%. Most travel will occur outside of outage season
- Convey benefits and advantages of STAR products and services to clients
- Generate cost estimates and proposals, as needed
- Responsible for proposal follow up and tracking of metrics
- Offer after-sales support to existing clients
- Responsible for achieving company sales targets and goals
- Assist with training and support of third-party sales rep network
- Perform technical presentations to customers and at industry conferences
Requirements
- Preference is to have the role to based out of our Marion, OH facility but remote is possible.
- Engineering degree is required
- Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCad, SolidWorks, etc.) preferred
- Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
- Familiarity with steam or gas turbines would be preferred but not necessary. Compensation will be commensurate with pertinent experience.
