CAD Design Engineer – Holster Development
Reports To: Head of Operations
Location: Onsite – Stevenson, WA
Wage: DOE
Perks: Six (6) Paid Holidays; Flexible Work Hours; Free Holsters & Merchandise – All Other Items at Cost
Position Overview
To design, prototype, and refine next-generation holster systems through precision engineering, rapid iteration, and problem-driven innovation. This role is responsible for bringing new holster concepts from idea to production-ready tooling while maintaining Guerrilla Tactical’s standards for durability, retention, and performance.
This is not a “sit behind a desk and model parts” position. This is a hands-on engineering role inside a growing tactical manufacturing company. The right candidate will not just design parts — they will help shape the future direction of Guerrilla Tactical’s holster systems and broader product lines.
We are looking for a self-driven, self-motivated engineer who thinks outside the box, solves problems proactively, and thrives in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
As we expand our capabilities as a manufacturing company — including new equipment, expanded product categories, and increased wholesale demand — there is significant room for advancement, leadership, and ownership within this role.
Core ResponsibilitiesHolster Design & Development
- Design custom holster systems using CAD (Fusion 360 required)
- Engineer holster geometry for optimized retention, concealment, durability, and firearm fitment
- Develop new mounting systems, hardware integrations, and modular components
- Improve and refine existing holster models for performance and manufacturability
Prototyping & Tooling
- Develop rapid prototype molds using 3D printing, HDPE, and aluminum
- Translate design concepts into production-ready tooling and documentation
- Design and refine forming molds, jigs, fixtures, and support tooling
- Support CNC workflows and optimize designs for efficient machining
Testing & Iteration
- Test prototypes for function, consistency, and long-term performance
- Conduct real-world evaluation of retention, wear patterns, and structural integrity
- Iterate quickly based on testing feedback and production constraints
Manufacturing Integration
- Collaborate directly with production staff to ensure manufacturability and repeatability
- Maintain organized CAD files, version control, and revision documentation
- Develop standardized documentation for part revisions and tooling updates
- Support continuous improvement in product performance and production workflow
Product Expansion Support
- Contribute to new product pipeline discussions and feasibility analysis
- Assist in developing expanded tactical product lines beyond holsters as we scale
- Help identify opportunities to improve margins, production efficiency, and scalability
Skills Required (Must Have)
CAD Proficiency – Strong working experience in Fusion 360 (or equivalent parametric CAD software).
Problem Solving – Ability to identify design challenges and engineer practical, production-ready solutions.
Independent Drive – Self-motivated, capable of owning projects from concept to implementation.
Creative Engineering Mindset – Able to think beyond conventional approaches while maintaining manufacturability.
Mechanical Aptitude – Strong understanding of form, tolerance, retention mechanics, and functional geometry.
Preferred Skills (Plus)
- Firearms enthusiast with working knowledge of holster concepts and carry considerations
- Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping workflows
- Experience machining HDPE or aluminum
- Prior CNC operation and/or CNC programming experience
- Familiarity with mold design and thermoforming processes
- Background in manufacturing or tactical product development
Growth & Gain-Sharing Opportunities
This position offers multiple growth opportunities as Guerrilla Tactical expands its manufacturing capabilities, product lines, and wholesale footprint.
High-performing team members will have opportunities to:
- Take ownership of entire product categories
- Lead future product development initiatives
- Influence equipment investments and manufacturing strategy
We also offer gain-sharing opportunities tied to specific parts, systems, or product ideas you help bring to market. If you design or help develop a product that becomes a major revenue driver, you will share in the success of that product. We believe innovation should be rewarded.
Who Thrives Here
- Engineers who like seeing their designs go into real-world use
- Builders who enjoy rapid iteration over endless theory
- Individuals who want long-term growth inside a scaling manufacturing company
- People who take pride in performance-driven design
Guerrilla Tactical is growing quickly. This role is an opportunity to get in early, build meaningful systems, and help define the next generation of our holster platform.
