NEON is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Business Affairs Assistant in either our New York or Los Angeles office. This role will be integral in supporting the Business Affairs department by managing a variety of administrative tasks and facilitating communication across teams to ensure smooth operations.
Here is what you'll do:
- Manage contract administration, ensuring efficient signature collection, accurate agreement tracking, and well-maintained internal file systems
- Oversee project-related payment workflows for acquisitions, development, and production, including processing WGA fringes and ensuring accurate, timely payouts.
- Review and submit Business Affairs invoices and partner closely with Finance to coordinate prompt payment and reconciliation.
- Track and manage merchandising rights, required approvals, and pre-negotiated talent royalties tied to merchandise initiatives.
- Maintain and regularly circulate key internal Business Affairs tracking documents to ensure visibility and alignment across teams.
- Handle corporate governance matters, including entity formation, securing federal tax ID numbers for new subsidiaries, and drafting internal operating agreements.
- Support international tax compliance by coordinating and providing required documentation to consultants for cross-border deals.
- Manage copyright and UCC filings, lien searches, and title report requests to protect company interests.
- Serve as the primary administrative lead for Business Affairs, including overseeing departmental scheduling and calendar management for the President of Business & Legal Affairs.
- Manage expense reporting for the President of Business & Legal Affairs.
- Supervise Business Affairs interns, guiding responsibilities such as quarterly credit facility reporting, data entry, trailer music license review, and other ongoing projects.
- Opportunity to expand into drafting and reviewing music licenses, clip licenses, influencer agreements, venue rental agreements, and other related agreements
Compensation:
The target annual salary range for this entry-level position is $62,000 - $65,000 per annum, intended for recent graduates or candidates with up to one year of relevant experience. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and internal equity.
This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring in-office presence for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Film Studies, Law, or a related field preferred
- Open to recent graduates and entry-level candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience
- Prior exposure to business affairs, legal, or administrative work is a plus, internships and externships count
- Interest in legal and business affairs within the entertainment industry strongly preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized with an anticipatory mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
