Immediate need for an Underwriter with experience in Workers Compensation. This role will produce and service profitable Workers’ Compensation insurance business in an
assigned territory in accordance with Company underwriting and compliance guidelines.
Further duties:
- Become acquainted with and communicate with all agents and brokers in their assigned territory to establish a good rapport to implement business plans.
- Monitor changes in any particular risk, agency, or area which might affect the production of business in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the Underwriting Manager with an ongoing review of strategies and status of an agency or brokerage’s portfolio of business to produce new business, maintain retention and profitability.
- Review all new and renewal business in the assigned territory ensuring all bound business meets underwriting and rating standards as maintained in the Workers’ Compensation Underwriting Guidelines.
- Keep abreast of new technologies, procedures and guidelines while maintaining proficiency in all company software applications required which includes ratings, binding, issuance and servicing of policy documents
- Assemble and organize complete underwriting and rating information in a form and manner which will ensure an error-free, understandable and professional product
- Resolve all external bureau notifications/criticisms as required.
- Maintain up-to-date underwriting files in compliance with all requirements of the Workers’ Compensation Program Underwriting Guidelines.
- Assist as required for collections of outstanding premiums on business produced in assigned
territory.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years of Underwriter experience preferably with Workers Comp managing individual accounts/portfolio of business
