Who We Are
The gap no one has filled. Every complex system in America has a professional translation layer. You have a lawyer for legal. An accountant or Turbotax for taxes. A financial advisor for your money. A travel agent or Expedia for your trip. Healthcare, a trillion-dollar industry that’s arguably the most complex and touches every single family, leaves us on our own.
Hera is creating a new profession in healthcare: the Hero — a dedicated senior care expert for your family. They focus on the “last mile” of healthcare.
Our Heroes educate, coordinate, and advocate for the most vulnerable and most expensive population to the healthcare system.
- Not just getting a kidney transplant, but booking and getting Barbara to her follow up appointment to keep her out of the hospital again.
- Not just getting the life-changing medication prescribed, but ensuring Richard takes the right medications at the right time.
- Not just getting the home aide in place, but ensuring they’re taking care of Beverly the right way.
We’re doing this covered by insurance to ensure we can serve every family in America that needs us. Aging is a universal, human experience we all will face.
Our brand promise
There’s a slew of “marketplace advocate” companies popping up to quickly grow by enabling advocates to serve families however they see fit. They're optimizing for speed to scale. We're optimizing for something harder:
trust.
We’re selling
trust that stems from the expertise of our Heroes and platform.
Hera’s brand promise is simple: care that would only be great enough for our own parents. This promise is our moat.
It’s what physicians refer to, families buy, what Heroes deliver, and what the product must unlock and enforce at every touchpoint.
The Opportunity — Founding GTM
We're in the business of trust. We meet our families through the most trusted source: their healthcare providers. These doctors and social workers see the need every day. The elderly patient who keeps readmitting to the ER. The family overwhelmed by a new diagnosis. Providers feel the pain but don't have the time or resources to help beyond the visit or hospital stay. That's where Hera steps in.
We've grown to ~100 referring providers in New York entirely through word of mouth. There are over 500K primary care doctors, geriatricians, and social workers across the country who could be referring to Hera.
Today, GTM is led by Dan, one of Hera's founding team members. We have a rough playbook of what's working, but we need someone to take it further. Build, break, rebuild, and scale what health system partnerships look like at Hera.
This is a 0-to-1 role. You'll figure out the best ways to get in front of physicians and social workers and show them how Hera can support their patients. Run experiments, build systems, and own the full journey from first touch to active referral partner. What you learn will shape how Hera builds a sales team, an enterprise motion, or something we haven't thought of yet.
The Role
We believe truth is in the field. This is a show-up-in-person, walk-into-the-office, figure-it-out role. Most of your time will be spent in doctors' offices, hospital floors, and clinic break rooms across New York. You'll be on your feet.
Find The People Who Need Hera The Most
- Find, build, and work target lists of physicians, geriatricians, and social workers.
- Cold call offices, send outbound emails, and find creative ways to get in the door.
- Experiment. New channels, new angles, new tactics. Go deeper on what works, stop what doesn't.
Get in the room and make the pitch
- Walk into primary care practices, build rapport with the front desk, wait for a window to catch the doctor between patients, and make a 2-minute pitch for why Hera matters for their patients.
- Some days you'll get twenty minutes with a physician. Some days you'll get a business card and a "come back Thursday." Follow up relentlessly until that provider becomes a referral partner.
- Host lunch-and-learns at physicians' offices.
Turn referrers into champions
- Own the full provider relationship from first meeting → first referral → 100th referral. You'll support this function until it becomes its own team.
- Stay in regular contact with referral partners. Keep Hera top of mind.
Build the GTM Engine
- Work with Dan to build the systems behind everything above. Outbound copy, sequences, our first CRM, pipeline tracking, dashboards.
- Document the playbook so it can scale beyond you. What you build becomes the foundation of Hera's GTM org.
Whatever Else Comes Up
- This is a startup. Most weeks you'll be selling. Others you'll surge on a random business need. You go wherever needed to help drive Hera forward.
Who We're Looking For
- High EQ. Taking a social worker out for coffee sounds exciting to you. You can drop off lunch for a receptionist one day and pitch the Chief Medical Officer of a multi-site practice the next, and be equally comfortable in both.
- Agency. You go from idea to lead to close without someone mapping out every step. You move fast, figure it out as you go, and don't wait to be told what to do.
- Five-tool player. Sales and relationship building is your spike, but you can flex. Comfortable using AI to write scripts that automate provider updates, design handouts for a lunch-and-learn, build a prospecting list from scratch, or spin up a landing page.
- 1-2+ years in sales, GTM, ops, consulting, or finance. You've done some version of selling, whether that's closing deals, running a side hustle, or convincing your neighbors to let you mow their lawn. Now you want to build something. Startup experience is a plus.
- Bonus if you've worked in healthcare.
About The Current Team
You’ll be building Hera with alongside co-founders Jenny, Myles & Connie as well as founding team member Isabella, Sasi, Dan. Jenny, Connie, Isabella, and Dan were in the trenches together building Headway (
now the largest mental health platform in America) while Myles, Sasi & Connie all came from Palantir, all resonating with a personal tie to this mission.
We closed a sizable seed round led by Accel and have since gotten to seven-figure GMV with organic distribution through channel partners: geriatricians and social workers from Weill Cornell, NYU Langone and Mt Sinai. The customer feedback is the most positive our team has seen in our careers. Read our story and watch our launch video here.
