Overview:
This position will assist Tompkins Financial Advisor’s (TFA) clients and prospects through every aspect of the financial planning process, manage the progress of the plan, and create a game plan for ongoing service. The position requires significant relationship management, business development, presentation and sales skills.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of the financial planning process – gather, sort, analyze client-provided data; conduct financial planning research; use financial planning software to prepare forecasts and identify opportunities; provide written recommendations and implementation of accepted recommendations in partnership with the Wealth Advisors; and present all financial data to clients and attend client meetings.
- Continually monitor, manage progress of plans, conduct routine reviews and updates of clients’ financial plans.
- Support Wealth Advisors in existing client relationships and in new business development via demonstrating expertise in planning; introduce community members to Tompkins Financial Advisors; seek referrals by fostering relationships with centers of influence, existing clients, community involvement and other professional external client resources.
- Assist Company in attainment of profitability goals and corporate vision by supporting Wealth Advisors who are charged with developing and implementing strategies to increase the scope of services to existing and potential clients.
- In partnership with other members of the wealth management team, it will be accountable to ensure that the Company’s client experience standards for financial planning and client relationship development are met.
- Attend sales meetings and frequently meet with the wealth management team and other members of Tompkins to identify opportunities.
- Attend, and as appropriate, lead TFA financial planning calls to ensure collaboration with overall financial planning team and consistency and adherence to client experience standards.
- Community involvement duties include attending a minimum of eight (8) charitable events per year and being involved in one committee/board.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- At least three (3) years of experience in a related role, demonstrating strong capabilities in sales, business development, and relationship management.
- Proven ability to identify client goals and objectives and translate them into tailored, meaningful financial plans.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and advanced presentation abilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reporting, learning new systems and applications, and supporting others through training.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct research, interpret findings, and draw sound conclusions.
- Professional certifications such as CFP, CFA, or CPA are highly preferred.
- Prior experience using financial planning software.
- Solid understanding of investments and portfolio management principles

Pay Range: USD $75,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.
