This Engineer position operates within the Delta TechOps’ Repair Engineering Organization. This position provides technical support for turbofan engine MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) activities in one or more areas; Shop Repair/Support or Scrap Recovery/MRB.
Responsibilities Include
- Work directly with engine maintenance, engineering team members, and engineering management to develop repair and process solutions for turbofan engine components.
- Develop relationships and work with outside repair vendors to develop repairs and identify savings opportunities for turbofan engine components.
- Define scope of work for development projects, including equipment, tooling and labor requirements.
- Establish and maintain schedules that achieve defined objectives.
- Collaborate with Delta’s SMEs and ODAs to develop substantiation and regulatory compliance plans.
- Organize and/or prepare all relevant reports, drawings, and engineering authorizations for assigned projects.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Material Science Engineering from an accredited institution, or 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with the repair or design of gas turbine or turbofan engine components and repair concepts typically used in repair/manufacturing (e.g. machining, welding, heat treatment, brazing, cleaning, plating and coatings)
- Previous Airline, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft engines.
- Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems, 14 CFR 121 and 14 CFR 145 repair station regulations.
- Six Sigma (GB/BB), Lean Manufacturing, or PMP certification
