Investment Associate
Austin, TX
Pine Valley Capital Partners is seeking a full-time Associate to join the investment team and report directly to the Vice Presidents. This role will have three primary areas of focus; deal modeling and evaluation, portfolio management and risk analysis, and data analytics and reporting. The candidate will work on deals across the entire investment platform and develop both internal and external facing deliverables.
The ideal candidate should possess superior analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high degree of self-motivation. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manipulate and interpret data are requirements to be successful in the role. A background in credit and/or deal structuring is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Deal Modeling & Evaluation
· Evaluate new investment opportunities in collaboration with the Vice Presidents and Head of Business Development.
· Complete in-depth due diligence and develop investment materials for deals to be presented to the firm’s investment committee.
· Work alongside the investment team to coordinate the execution and closing of investments, maintaining timely communication with internal and external partners.
Portfolio Management & Risk Analysis
· Actively monitor the performance, cash flows, and risk profiles of existing investments.
· Lead reporting on month-over-month portfolio changes, identifying key drivers for underlying investment positions and highlighting areas for follow-up with borrowers.
· Provide monthly performance reports and risk ratings to finance and operations teams to inform fund accounting and performance analysis.
Data Analytics & Investment Reporting
· Collaborate with operations team to develop and enhance data-driven reports, dashboards, and portfolio metrics for senior leadership.
· Partner with the investor relations and the operations teams to update pitch books, fund presentations, and client materials.
· Prepare and deliver quarterly and ad hoc portfolio performance reports to support investor communications.
Qualifications:
· Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or similar required.
· 1-3 years experience in private credit, direct lending or similar preferred.
· Advanced Excel skills required.
· Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or AI-based analytics tools preferred.
· Strong quantitative, financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Passion for investing with a specific interest in credit and other structured products.
· Ability to learn from and work effectively with the investment team.
