As a Materials & Process Intern on the R&D team, you will develop the processes and equipment required for understanding and advanced metallurgy processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate safely in a pilot manufacturing and R&D facility working hands-on with reactive metal powders.
- Participate in the materials and process development efforts for an advanced metallurgy process.
- Characterize process outputs that the inform processing, properties, structure, material relationship
- Optimize process parameters to achieve target quality and performance requirements, study process windows and develop bounding setpoints for processes
- Contribute to the development of core equipment technology, including development of next generation processes and equipment for production

Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science & Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Coursework or practical experience in materials characterization techniques.
- Familiarity with data analysis using tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar environments.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to work in a laboratory setting.
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to analysis of metallic or magnetic materials.
- Prior experience with SEM, EDS, EBSD, or material characterization techniques.
- Experience working in an academic or industrial laboratory setting.
