Seattle-based painter Carrington Moore is looking for a part-time studio assistant to help keep the creative engine running smoothly. She is looking for assistance with managing the day-to-day operations of studio management as she develops several major upcoming projects. This is a part-time role that is perfect for exposing artists to the inner operations of a modern art business, and is open to an apprenticeship level on both operations and creative development for those seeking to develop technical painting skills over time.
This is an in-person role and requires being based in Seattle.
About the Role
This is a long-term, growth-oriented position — not a temporary gig. Hours vary, averaging around 10 hours per week, with flexibility depending on workflow and project timelines.
What You’ll Be Doing
Packing and shipping artwork orders
Managing inventory
Developing and maintaining systems for archiving and tagging artwork (both digitally and physically)
Assisting with project management tasks alongside the artist
Coordinating with a small team (one digital community assistant and one digital marketer)
Optional (depending on interest): stretching and de-stretching canvas; potential art apprenticeship
This role is ideal for someone who loves creating structure behind the scenes and wants to be involved in the inner workings of a working artist’s studio.
What We’re Looking For
A deep interest in art
Strong organizational instincts
Comfort with physical activity (lifting, moving artwork, packing materials)
Someone excited about building systems and improving workflows
