POSITION: Junior Design Assistant
LOCATION: NYC Metro, Hybrid
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Junior Design Assistant supports the daily operations and creative workflow of the design studio. This role is ideal for an early-career designer seeking hands-on experience across all aspects of jewelry design, from concept development through product development.
The position combines creative assistance, studio organization, and design development support, helping ensure the design team operates efficiently while contributing to the evolution of seasonal collections and core product.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Support
• Assist designers with research, concept development, and collection preparation
• Create sketches, renderings, and presentation materials as directed
• Prepare mood boards, inspiration research, and visual references
• Support design revisions and updates throughout development
Studio Organization & Operations
• Maintain organization of the design studio, materials, and sample archives
• Organize design boards, trays, stones, and reference materials
• Ensure workspace readiness for reviews and presentations
Design Development Assistance
• Help prepare design packages and development documents
• Assist with measurements, CAD coordination, and design updates
• Track changes and maintain version control for designs
• Support communication between NY and Bali design teams, and Design and Product Development
Administrative & Team Support
• Assist with meeting preparation and collection reviews
• Help manage timelines and design calendars
• Maintain digital asset libraries and file organization
• Support cross-functional collaboration with merchandising and marketing teams
Qualifications
• 0–2 years experience in jewelry, fashion, or product design (internships welcome)
• Degree or coursework in Jewelry Design, Industrial Design, Fashion, or related field
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to balance creative and operational tasks
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop preferred)
• Basic understanding of jewelry construction a plus
• Positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn
