Microbiology Laboratory Analyst
Lozier Environmental Consulting, Inc. is an environmental consulting firm and laboratory located in Rochester, New York, that deals with the analysis of airborne fibers, asbestos bulk materials, mold, food, and potable/non-potable water.
Lozier is currently seeking a self-starting individual who is well organized and detail oriented to join our Microbiology Department.
The Microbiology Lab Analyst will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:
-Preparation of microbiological media and supplements
-Labeling and storage of specimens
-Running equipment such as an autoclave, pH meter, etc.
-Preparation and documentation of environmental specimens such as swabs, water
and/or food samples following laboratory SOPs
-Performing QC analyses
-Keeping track of supply inventory such as sampling bottles, pipettes, petri dishes, etc.
-Report generation
-Disinfecting the laboratory area – lab bench, floors, etc.
-Answering phones, helping walk in clients with sample drop off, and directing calls
(and other associated clerical work)
Requirements:
· Bachelor or Associates degree in microbiology or related science.
- Excellent typing and computer skills; fluency in Excel is a MUST
- Full time position.
