Asbestos Laboratory Analyst
Lozier Environmental Consulting, Inc. is an environmental consulting firm and laboratory located in Rochester, New York, that deals with the analysis of airborne fibers, asbestos bulk materials, mold, food, and potable/non-potable water.
Lozier is currently seeking a self-starting individual who is well organized and detail oriented to join our Asbestos Department.
The Asbestos Lab Analyst will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:
- Preparation and analysis in building materials for bulk samples
- Microscopy analysis of asbestos fibers in air samples
- Identifies, quantifies, and analyzes asbestos fibers in various samples, using Polarized
Light Microscopy (PLM) or Phase Contract microscopy (PCM).
- Following strict protocols and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the accuracy
and integrity of analytical data.
Requirements:
· Bachelor or Associates degree in Geology or related science is recommended.
· Excellent typing/computer and math skills
· Fluency in Word and Excel is a MUST
· PCM/PLM/Asbestos Identification Certification is preferred, but not required. If candidate is starting out and does not have this certification, Lozier will provide this two week long out-of-state training for you to complete.
- Full-time position, some weekend hours are possible.
