Help Launch a New Chicago Beverage Brand
Sweet Honey Beverages is launching Lakeshore Fruit Splash, a refreshing fruit beverage inspired by Chicago. We are rapidly expanding retail presence across Chicago through neighborhood markets, convenience stores, liquor stores, gyms, and local retailers.
We are looking for a high-energy Field Sales Representative who enjoys meeting people, walking into stores, and building relationships that lead to new retail placements.
This is an opportunity to help build a brand from the ground up.
Role Overview
The Chicago Field Sales Representative will be responsible for opening new retail accounts across Chicago and building early demand for Lakeshore Fruit Splash.
This role is highly entrepreneurial and requires someone comfortable with:
• In-person selling
• Cold outreach
• Visiting stores across Chicago neighborhoods
• Product sampling and grassroots marketing
• Building relationships with store owners and managers
The ideal candidate enjoys being out in the field, meeting people, and closing new accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Open New Retail Accounts
Visit independent retailers, convenience stores, liquor stores, markets, gyms, and cafés to introduce Lakeshore Fruit Splash and secure shelf placement.
Target: 2–3 new retail accounts per week
Conduct Product Sampling
Introduce the product through in-store tastings and sampling events to generate customer interest and demand.
Build Local Brand Awareness
Identify neighborhood events, gyms, restaurants, and community partners that can help grow brand visibility.
Support Retail Relationships
Maintain relationships with store owners and managers to ensure strong product placement, inventory rotation, and reorders.
Track Sales Activity
Provide weekly updates on:
• Stores visited
• New accounts opened
• Cases sold
• Customer feedback
Qualifications
• Proven sales skills, including prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals
• Strong networking and relationship-building abilities
• Organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and promotional events
• Ability to track sales data and analyze performance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter who can work independently and take initiative
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
Preferred:
• Experience in beverage or consumer packaged goods sales
• Background in beer, spirits, energy drinks, or food distribution
• Existing relationships with Chicago retailers
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred but not required.
Compensation
This role includes a base stipend plus performance-based incentives tied to opening retail accounts and driving sales.
Base Stipend
$2,000 – $3,000 per month
New Store Bonus
$75 – $100 per new retail account opened
(Paid when the store places its first order and product is delivered)
Sales Commission
$1 – $2 per case sold
Performance Bonuses
• 25 stores opened – $1,000 bonus
• 50 stores opened – $2,000 bonus
Estimated Earnings
Top performers can earn $4,000 – $6,000+ per month once the territory is established.
Growth Opportunity
As the brand expands, this role can evolve into a Regional Sales Manager position with expanded responsibility and compensation.
