Account Executive, School Groups & Educational Events
Position Summary
The Account Executive, School Groups & Educational Events position is responsible for selling and maintaining a comprehensive array of group tickets for the Colorado Rockies games with an emphasis on School groups and Educational Programs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for generating ticket revenue by establishing and developing accounts through lead generation and networking to a wide range of clientele including day camps, K-12 schools, college, and various other educational entities
- Ensure that ticketing clients are educated on ticketing processes, maximizing their investment, and fully utilizing their tickets
- Alongside other departments, this position will lead the creation, promotion, and execution of special theme days & events such as STEM Day, on-field performances, pre-game ceremonies and batting practice viewing
- Collaborate with marketing and other departments to generate leads and execute key sales campaigns; and develop year-round sales prospecting plans and creative business development initiatives
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all current clients, sales invoices/records of transactions, and prospects with Salesforce
- Partner with department staff to track, report, and analyze sales processes and results, to maximize revenue and efficiency
- Research market and industry trends to best tailor programs and identify new sales opportunities
- Create new business opportunities while maintaining a waiting list of new clients for upcoming seasons
- Assist with renewal process for groups who purchased 20 or more tickets
- Assist with revision of existing group literature (i.e., fliers, letters, etc.) and creation of new group literature
- Other duties may change or be assigned as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or sports management, and/or combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum two years of high-volume sales experience, preferably with ticketing or within the sports and entertainment industry.

- Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization and throughout the community
- Organizational and time management skills with a results-oriented approach to a high-volume sales process
- Proficient computer skills including internet applications, CRM systems, and ability to learn and master new software programs such as ticketing systems (Archtics), and AI tools (ChatGPT)
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and oversee large-scale events and programs
- Passion for nurturing positive and inclusive sales cultures and long-term growth of sales team
Work Schedule
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that can occasionally include seasonal in-game duties during evening and weekend home games
- Ability to navigate the ballpark in order to visit clients during home games and escort potential customers on seat tours, showing various seating options and facilities on both game days and non-game days. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds
Salary Range
- Base compensation range is $50,000 - $55,000. In addition to the base pay, this role offers the opportunity to earn a commission on top of the base compensation, providing a total compensation range of $50,000 - $90,000/year. Total compensation is determined by candidate experience and generated revenue.
- As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills, and any other factors the Colorado Rockies consider relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
