Freelance AV Operator – Corporate Events | Nashville, TN
Job Type: Freelance / Contract
About Royal Productions
With over 37 years in the audio-visual production industry, Royal Productions operates in-house AV programs at premier hotel properties across the United States and supports large-scale corporate events, general sessions, road shows, and multi-day conferences. We hold ourselves to a high standard - and we expect the same from the people we work with.
We're expanding our Nashville freelance roster and looking for experienced AV operators who know their craft, show up ready, and take pride in a flawless show.
The Opportunity
This is a show-by-show, contract engagement - not a full-time position. As we build our Nashville call list, top performers will be contacted first and consistently. We work primarily in upscale hotel environments with corporate clientele, so professionalism and client-facing ability matter as much as technical skill.
Disciplines We're Hiring
We're building across all areas:
- Audio: A1 console operation, A2, RF coordination and patch, system troubleshooting, and signal flow in large general session and ballroom environments
- Video: video switching, projection alignment and blending, video distribution, and confidence monitor management for corporate general sessions
- Camera: multi-camera live event operation, IMAG, robotic camera systems, PTZ, and broadcast-style shooting for corporate and conference environments
- Lighting: console operation, fixture programming and focus, corporate ballroom and general session lighting design support
- LED: LED wall setup and processing, panel configuration, pixel mapping, and on-site troubleshooting
- Rigging: certified riggers with experience in arena and hotel ballroom environments; truss, chain motors, and overhead structural hang
- General Set/Strike: experienced stagehands for load-in/load-out, staging, pipe and drape, cable management, and show support
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in live corporate event or hotel AV production
- The ability to work independently and alongside an in-house team without hand-holding
- A professional, client-forward presence - you're often visible to the client during the show
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and occasional early calls
- Ability to work as an independent contractor (1099)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and remain on your feet for the duration of an event
Compensation
This is a contract (1099) engagement - you set your rate. We're happy to discuss further when we connect.
How to Apply
Send your resume along with your primary discipline, general availability, and day rate. Qualified candidates will be contacted directly ahead of upcoming dates.
Royal Productions is an equal opportunity employer. We've been in this industry for nearly four decades because we invest in the right people - we'd love to add you to our Nashville roster.
