Responsibilities

Plan, execute, and document detailed ISO 14001 environmental management system audits across multiple organizational units
Evaluate compliance with ISO 14001 standards, legal requirements, and internal policies through thorough on-site inspections and interviews
Identify non-conformities, areas for improvement, and best practices; communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
Collaborate with operational teams to develop corrective action plans that address audit findings effectively
Maintain comprehensive audit records, reports, and follow-up documentation to ensure transparency and accountability
Support the development of environmental management strategies aligned with industry best practices and regulatory expectations
Stay current on evolving environmental regulations, standards like ISO 14001, and emerging sustainability trends to enhance audit quality

Requirements

Proven experience conducting ISO 14001 audits or working within environmental management systems in a corporate or consulting setting
Strong understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability principles, and international standards such as ISO 14001
Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex compliance data and identify risks or opportunities for improvement
Familiarity with auditing tools, methodologies, and reporting software to streamline audit processes
Knowledge of related frameworks including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley), COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations), and regulatory reporting requirements
Background in environmental science, engineering, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory if complemented by relevant auditing experience
Exceptional communication skills to clearly convey audit findings and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
