Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and document detailed ISO 14001 environmental management system audits across multiple organizational units
- Evaluate compliance with ISO 14001 standards, legal requirements, and internal policies through thorough on-site inspections and interviews
- Identify non-conformities, areas for improvement, and best practices; communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
- Collaborate with operational teams to develop corrective action plans that address audit findings effectively
- Maintain comprehensive audit records, reports, and follow-up documentation to ensure transparency and accountability
- Support the development of environmental management strategies aligned with industry best practices and regulatory expectations
- Stay current on evolving environmental regulations, standards like ISO 14001, and emerging sustainability trends to enhance audit quality
Requirements
- Proven experience conducting ISO 14001 audits or working within environmental management systems in a corporate or consulting setting
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability principles, and international standards such as ISO 14001
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex compliance data and identify risks or opportunities for improvement
- Familiarity with auditing tools, methodologies, and reporting software to streamline audit processes
- Knowledge of related frameworks including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley), COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations), and regulatory reporting requirements
- Background in environmental science, engineering, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory if complemented by relevant auditing experience
- Exceptional communication skills to clearly convey audit findings and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
