Basic Qualifications
- Experience with 3DCAD Modeling in PTC CREO or similar tools i.e. Solidworks, AutoDesk Inventor, etc.
- Experience with mechanical design model/drawing interpretation
- Knowledge of GD&T(Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and its application to mechanical design models/drawings
- Experience problem solving mechanical systems
- Knowledge of industrial standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS (including AWS weld symbiology)
- Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.
- Knowledge/understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Come work with multidisciplinary engineers focused on delivering world class Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program. You will be responsible for the designs solutions that support the Organization. As an Engineer, you will work with a diverse work force responsible for the development, design, fabrication, test, and delivery of MGSE.
Job Responsibilities Include
- Develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products.
- Review requirements from various sources (stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.
- Collaborate with peers, systems engineering, configuration management, manufacturing, etc. to ensure program requirements and schedules are met.
- Contribute to the completion of Program achievements by the release of accurate, error-free, affordable and producible engineering designs.
The ideal candidate will have experience with 3DCAD Modeling in PTC CREO or similar, knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), mechanical drawing interpretation, experience problem solving mechanical systems, have good communications skills (both oral and written). A willingness to travel up to 10% of time and ability to obtain a DOD security clearance is required.
Desired Skills
- Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Knowledge of or experience in Mechanical Ground Support Equipment for assembly of launch vehicles/payloads.
- Experience with industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with Engineering Data Product release process within the PTC Engineering Product Data Management (EPDM) system or similar.
- Knowledge of LM Space command media.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Good oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
