Mistral is seeking Mechanical Engineer I to support our Blast Management product line at our Nottingham, Maryland manufacturing facility. This is a full-time, on-site position reporting to Senior Engineer.
Position Definition: The Mechanical Engineer I will support business activities of the Business Unit(s) and complete assigned engineering tasks for R&D projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft, modify, and update parts, assemblies and drawings using SolidWorks
- Create and maintain bills of materials
- Prepare and complete engineering change order packages
- Create and refine technical mechanical part and assembly drawings/models to accurately capture design intent
- Provide peer and technical reviews of engineering designs and engineering related documentation produced by others
- Support floor with needed documentation and take any feedback that they provide
- Develop DXF file to be used by the floor in the manufacturing process.
- Utilizing the SolidWorks database; update drawings as needed, move data from other platforms to SolidWorks (i.e. Inventor)
- Control and management of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) using SolidWorks CAD, Microsoft Excel and ERP system inventory and manufacturing tools
- Production support by supplying product TDPs to floor for new sales orders
Essential Education, Skills and Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience using CAD and SolidWorks software
- Proficiency using SolidWorks, knowledge of Inventor is a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to comprehend and follow directions
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Must have a can-do attitude and an ability to think outside of the box
- Experience designing products using plastic, metal or wood is highly preferred
