Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced IT Applications Analyst/Report Writer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, develop, maintain, and optimize complex reporting solutions using SAP Crystal Reports. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience integrating reports within the Viewpoint Construction Software (Vista or Spectrum) ecosystem. You will translate business requirements into actionable insights, ensuring data integrity and performance.Key Responsibilities
- Report Development: Design, create, and maintain complex, interactive reports, dashboards, and forms (invoices, purchase orders) using Crystal Reports 2013-2020.
- Viewpoint Integration: Customize and integrate Crystal Reports directly into the Viewpoint Vista/Spectrum environment, including creating report pointers, setting up security, and scheduling reports.
- Data Analysis & SQL: Write efficient SQL queries, views, and stored procedures (T-SQL or PL/SQL) to extract and transform data from Viewpoint relational databases.
- Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with Finance, Project Management, and Operations teams to translate functional specifications into technical reporting requirements.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Troubleshoot and resolve report-related performance issues, data inaccuracies, and user access problems.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for report design, data mapping, and user guides.
- Training: Provide training and support to end-users on report usage and interpreting data outputs.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in report development, specifically using SAP Crystal Reports.
- Viewpoint Knowledge: Strong preference for experience with Viewpoint Vista or Viewpoint Spectrum ERP systems.
- SQL Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of SQL for database querying, joining tables, and optimizing performance.
- Technical Skills: Experience with relational databases (SQL Server/Oracle), data modeling, and data visualization best practices.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, SSRS).
- Construction or Manufacturing industry experience.
