About Sophia
Our Mission
Sophia is on a mission to help people build deeper, more meaningful relationships using AI.
We are building an end-to-end agentic matchmaker that blends relationship science, psychology, and advanced language and computer-vision models to deliver deeply tailored introductions. Instead of swiping, people talk. Sophia listens and learns your personality, lifestyle, and relationship style to introduce people who are genuinely compatible.
Who We Are
Sophia is a design-driven, early-stage technology company operating at the intersection of human relationships and AI. Every team member helps shape not just a product, but a human-centered experience.
About the Role
This is not a traditional Chief of Staff role.
We are hiring a Founder Associate (Office of the CEO) — a highly capable, high-agency operator who will work directly with the founder to translate ideas into execution, build the first version of nearly everything, and ensure the business moves forward with speed and clarity.
You will be deeply embedded in the day-to-day of the company — spanning growth, product, brand, operations, and special projects — acting as both a thought partner and execution engine.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- prefers building over discussing
- moves quickly without waiting for perfect direction
- thrives in ambiguity and ownership
If you are looking for a purely strategic or clearly defined role, this will not be the right fit.
What You’ll Do
1. Translate ideas into execution
Take rough inputs — voice notes, conversations, or early ideas — and turn them into:
- structured plans
- decks and documents
- clear next steps and execution roadmaps
2. Build Version 1
Rather than waiting for perfect clarity, you will:
- create the first draft, plan, or system
- bring something tangible back for feedback
- iterate quickly based on direction
3. Drive operational follow-through
- Track priorities across the company
- Ensure key initiatives move forward
- Follow up consistently with internal and external stakeholders
- Close loops and eliminate dropped balls
4. Act as the CEO’s output engine
- Draft emails, messages, and communications on behalf of the CEO
- Turn conversations into clear summaries and action items
- Reduce time spent on writing, organizing, and coordination
5. Execute across functions
- Work across growth, product, brand, and operations
- Support key initiatives such as events, partnerships, and launches
- Step into whatever is needed to move the company forward
6. Create leverage in the CEO’s day-to-day
- Manage logistics, scheduling, and coordination when needed
- Anticipate needs before they arise
- Reduce friction and increase overall velocity
Who You Are
- High agency: You take initiative and move without being asked
- Fast executor: You prioritize speed and progress over perfection
- Structured thinker: You bring clarity to ambiguous ideas
- Strong communicator: You write clearly and think in frameworks
- Comfortable with ambiguity: You don’t need everything defined upfront
- Low ego, high ownership: You do what needs to get done
Background That Tends to Work Well
- Former Founder Associate or early-stage startup operator
- Experience in consulting, startups, or other high-performance environments
- 3–7 years of experience
What This Role Is Not
- Not a traditional Executive Assistant role
- Not a purely strategic Chief of Staff role
- Not a passive support function
This is a hands-on, execution-first role at the center of the company.
What Success Looks Like
- Ideas move from concept to execution quickly
- The CEO spends significantly less time on writing, coordination, and follow-ups
- Priorities are clear and consistently moving forward
- Nothing important falls through the cracks
- The company operates with greater speed and clarity
Why This Role Matters
This is a high-trust, high-impact role working directly alongside the founder.
Done well, this role will meaningfully increase the speed, focus, and output of the entire company — and provide unmatched exposure to how an early-stage company is built from the inside.
