The Role
Ferguson Partners is looking for a Junior Consultant, Private Compensation Consulting interested in joining this fast-paced, project-driven practice. This individual will provide critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and analytical management on compensation consulting projects with the opportunity to participate in client meetings. The Junior Consultant will also gain significant exposure to the real estate industry becoming a trusted advisor to clients and will be able speak intelligently on not just compensation issues but also strategic and financial matters impacting private real estate companies. Over time, this role will be given the opportunity to take on additional responsibility within the practice and assist with client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of compensation clients largely for private real estate companies
- Use data, analytics, and expertise to identify and communicate strategic recommendations and improvement opportunities based on client needs and circumstances
- Prepare complex quantitative modeling related to compensation programs, including pay vs. performance disclosure and pay equity analyses
- Advise clients on tax, accounting and legal matters related to long-term incentives (including profits interests)
- Aid in the annual budget and forecast process including preparing presentations for the Board of Directors and portfolio company executive teams
- Manage project timelines and client deliverables
- Participate in efforts to drive continuous improvements and enhance teamwide processes
- Demonstrates a consistently professional, poised, and adaptable presence when engaging with clients, effectively navigating dynamic situations with confidence and sound judgment
- Successful candidates demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and personal integrity. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business-related field
- 1-4 years’ experience in executive compensation (preferably in a consulting environment)
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to work collaboratively in an entrepreneurial team setting
