Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Experience In 3D CAD (PTC CREO Preferred).
Experienced with Microsoft Office.
US Citizen.
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Job Description
You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer for the F 35 Electro Optical Targeting System (EOTS) team in Orlando, FL. Our team delivers cutting edge mechanical solutions that keep the F 35’s mission critical sensors operating flawlessly, driving innovation from concept through production.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for turning tough production and design challenges into elegant, manufacturable solutions. Working side by side with production, hardware design, and analysis groups, you’ll create new parts, issue engineering changes, and supply the detailed data the supply chain needs to build and ship world class hardware.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Generating and maintaining 3 D solid models and 2 D drawings in the Digital Product Lifecycle Management (dPLM) environment.
- Producing release ready engineering documents (drawings, BOMs, assembly parts lists) for fabrication and procurement.
- Performing tolerance stack up and fit analyses to guarantee manufacturability and reliability.
- Embedding GD&T and feature control frames directly in CAD models using Model Based Design principles.
- Coordinating design changes across cross functional teams and keeping dPLM baselines up to date.
- Supplying Production Planning, Operations, and Global Supply Chain with accurate, current design data and troubleshooting support.
- Identifying and implementing innovative design solutions for complex mechanical problems.
- Leading design reviews, integrating stakeholder feedback, and securing formal engineering release approvals.
