Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer primarily focusing on escalations to join our dynamic IT team. This role is critical in managing complex technical escalations, ensuring system stability, and delivering innovative solutions across diverse infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in systems engineering, solution architecture, and a broad range of IT technologies, including cloud platforms, networking, and security protocols. This position offers an opportunity to work on challenging projects that impact enterprise-wide operations and customer satisfaction.
This position is for an MSP that manages several thousand endpoints and will be in a position above the Help Desk with the support of multiple other Engineers to ensure success.
Duties
- Analyze and resolve high-priority escalated issues related to system architecture, infrastructure, and application performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and remediate complex problems
- Lead efforts in system integration, automation , and deployment strategies utilizing tools like NinjaOne and custom code.
- Conduct system assessments including vulnerability assessments, threat intelligence analysis, and security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Strong understanding of downstream systems impacted from changes
- Manage network configurations involving VPNs, firewalls, DHCP, DNS, GPOs, and load balancing techniques to optimize performance and security.
- Support virtualization environments such as Hyper-V; utilize scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, Python for automation tasks.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations and escalation procedures aligned with SDLC best practices.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of system architecture, solution architecture, and system design principles.
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure, cloud security, networking (TCP/IP, DNS), and system administration across Windows/Linux platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Azure, virtualization
- Strong understanding of active directory and Entra ID
- Knowledge of security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, system hardening techniques, vulnerability assessment/management, threat intelligence frameworks.
- Experience with RMMs, PSAs, Backup solutions and other MSP tools
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues using debugging tools across operating systems (Windows) while adhering to best practices in SDLC processes. This role is ideal for a proactive professional eager to solve challenging technical problems in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the stability and security of enterprise systems. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills combined with effective communication abilities necessary for escalation management at an advanced level.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
