COMPLETE CLOTHING
Junior Retoucher & Graphic Designer
Vernon, CA (On-Site) | Full-Time
About This Role
Complete Clothing is a Los Angeles-based contemporary women’s apparel company with a portfolio of brands including matty m. (mattym.com | @mattym), Search for Sanity, WILLOW, and Max & Mia. We’re seeking a skilled and detail-obsessed Junior Retoucher & Graphic Designer to join our in-house creative team at our Vernon, CA headquarters.
Retouching is the core of this role. You will be the primary owner of all photo post-production — ensuring every product image is polished, on-brand, and ready for e-commerce, digital marketing, and print. While you’ll also contribute to broader graphic design needs, your retouching craft is what will set you apart. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in pixel-perfect results and understands how high-quality imagery drives fashion retail.
This role reports to the Graphic Designer and collaborates cross-functionally with design, marketing, e-commerce, and sales.
Photo Retouching Responsibilities (Primary Focus)
- Perform high-end retouching on all product and lifestyle photography: skin, fabric, color correction, background cleanup, and compositing.
- Match product images precisely to physical color standards and style guides to ensure visual accuracy across all channels.
- Remove blemishes, wrinkles, and distracting elements from garments while preserving natural texture and fabric detail.
- Retouch model imagery with natural, editorial results — skin smoothing, hair cleanup, and body refinement that align with brand aesthetics.
- Process and cull large batches of shoot images efficiently using Capture One and/or Lightroom, delivering selects with consistent exposure, color, and tone.
- Prepare final web-optimized image files to exact size, resolution, and naming specifications for Shopify upload and e-commerce production.
- Collaborate directly with the photographer and creative team during and after photoshoots to ensure retouching needs are captured on set.
- Maintain organized, well-structured digital asset libraries and retouching archives for each brand and season.
- QA all retouched assets before delivery, catching inconsistencies in color, sharpening, cropping, or background treatment.
Graphic Design Responsibilities (Secondary Focus)
- Design and produce visual assets for digital and print: marketing emails, website graphics, digital ads, lookbooks, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Support asset production in Klaviyo for email campaigns and upload finalized assets to Shopify.
- Assist with pre-production and setup for photoshoots as needed.
- Support cross-functional teams with additional graphics requests across all brands.
- Stay current on visual trends in fashion, digital marketing, and design.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of professional retouching experience, ideally within fashion, apparel, or e-commerce — this is non-negotiable.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, with demonstrable retouching technique (frequency separation, dodge & burn, color grading, masking, compositing).
- Strong working knowledge of Capture One and/or Lightroom for culling, color grading, and batch processing.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign for graphic design work is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Klaviyo and Shopify for asset uploading and email production is a plus.
- A sharp eye for color accuracy, detail, and brand consistency across a high volume of assets.
- Ability to manage a large retouching workload efficiently and meet tight turnaround times without sacrificing quality.
- Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable working under minimal supervision.
- Positive, collaborative attitude with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Portfolio Requirements
A portfolio is required with your application. Your portfolio must include retouching examples — before/after comparisons are strongly encouraged. Please show product retouching, skin retouching, and color correction work. Design samples are welcome but retouching work will be the primary evaluation criteria.
