Product Development Engineer will lead and support new product initiatives from concept through production. This role blends engineering expertise with strong project management skills, ensuring products are developed efficiently, meet design intent, and are successfully launched to market.
An Industrial Design or Engineering degree is preferred. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in contract office furniture development, proficiency in SolidWorks, and a strong understanding of materials, prototyping, and manufacturing processes. This individual thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and can effectively drive projects forward while coordinating across teams.
What You’ll Do
· Lead product development projects from initial concept through engineering, validation, and production launch
· Collaborate closely with Outside designers, Purchasing, and Manufacturing team members to bring new products to market
· Evaluate and refine existing components and systems to support new product innovation and cost optimization
· Manage project timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional communication to ensure on-time execution
· Coordinate the development of new parts, including sourcing, prototyping, testing, and implementation
· Oversee creation and accuracy of engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and product records
· Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all product configurations and options
· Drive and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), ensuring clear communication across all stakeholders for any changes to launched products
· Support pricing and product launch readiness by reviewing price lists for accuracy and consistency
· Ensure complete and accurate manufacturing and assembly documentation is developed for production readiness
· Partner with Sales and Marketing to provide technical drawings and product information for go-to-market efforts
