Project: Major Federal Construction Project
Duration: Immediate start through Q1 2027
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Field Safety Engineer to support a high-profile federal construction project in Washington, DC. This is a heavily field-based role (85–90% of time spent in the field) and is ideal for a safety professional who is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident managing safety in a fast-paced environment.
You will play a critical role in driving safety performance, ensuring compliance, and protecting all personnel on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead implementation and enforcement of site-specific safety plans and procedures
- Conduct daily field safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors in real time
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure compliance with project safety standards
- Assist with emergency response planning and execution
- Partner with project leadership to continuously improve safety performance
Qualifications:
- OSHA 30 (required)
- 5–7+ years of construction safety experience (federal project experience strongly preferred)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards
- BCSP certifications (CHST, ASP, or CSP) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related field (preferred)
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work 50+ hours per week in a high-demand construction environment
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $45–$55/hour (based on experience)
- Overtime: 1.5x pay ($67.50–$82.50/hour)
- Schedule: 50+ hours/week with consistent overtime available
- Per Diem not currently offered
- Project Duration: Approximately 2 years (through Q1 2027)

Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Overtime and additional shifts may be available
Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
