Overview
We are seeking an experienced credit manager to oversee the company’s credit and collections operations for an electrical and plumbing supply distributor. This role is responsible for managing the company’s credit policies, customer credit approvals, collections, and risk exposure while supporting contractor relationships and sales growth with responsible credit policies.
Responsibilities
Credit Management
- Review and approve contractor credit applications.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Manage accounts receivable aging and collections.
- Follow up with customers on overdue invoices.
- Work with sales teams to resolve credit and payment issues.
- Negotiate payment plans and manage delinquent accounts.
Construction & Contractor Accounts
- Manage credit for electrical contractors, plumbing contractors, and commercial builders.
- Monitor exposure on large projects and contractor accounts.
- Support documentation for lien rights and job account tracking when applicable.
- Coordinate with sales staff on high-risk or large credit accounts.
Reporting & Financial Oversight
- Produce weekly/monthly AR aging and credit exposure reports.
- Analyze payment trends and identify risk accounts.
- Assist management with cash flow forecasting related to receivables.
Team Management
- Supervise AR staff
- Improve collection procedures and credit policies.
- Implement best practices for credit risk management.
- Establish and monitor credit limits and payment terms.
- Evaluate financial statements, credit reports, and trade references.
- Maintain credit files and ensure compliance with company policies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in credit, accounts receivable, or credit management.
- Experience in electrical supply, plumbing supply, building materials, or construction distribution strongly preferred.
- Experience managing contractor credit accounts
Salary is negotiable DOE
Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
