Kemah Capital is seeking a Production Underwriter – Commercial Property Insurance (E&S) to support the growth of our Middle Market Property Program.
This is a market-facing underwriting role focused on building relationships with wholesale brokers, managing submissions, negotiating terms, and closing deals within the commercial property insurance market.
Pricing and modeling are supported by Kemah Capital’s proprietary underwriting platform and our DataRight analytics team, allowing the underwriter to focus on broker engagement, deal execution, and portfolio growth.
This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy the commercial side of underwriting, working directly with brokers and contributing to the growth of a portfolio.
Note: This role is focused on commercial property insurance underwriting and working with wholesale brokers (not mortgage or loan underwriting).
What You Will Do
- Manage a pipeline of commercial property insurance submissions
- Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale insurance brokers
- Review submissions and ensure the accuracy and completeness of exposure data
- Coordinate internally with Kemah Capital’s underwriting analytics and DataRight teams to obtain pricing indications
- Negotiate pricing and terms with brokers
- Prepare and issue indications, quotes, and binders
- Follow up with brokers to close opportunities and grow production
- Maintain underwriting documentation within company systems
- Track deal flow and ensure timely response to brokers
- Monitor market activity and competitor pricing trends
- Contribute to the growth of Kemah Capital’s middle market property portfolio

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2–6 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting or brokerage
- Experience with commercial property insurance strongly preferred
- Experience working with E&S or wholesale brokers preferred
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple submissions in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with underwriting systems and workflow platforms
