Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented MiTek Truss Designer to join our innovative construction and engineering team. Duties
- Develop accurate truss designs using MiTek software, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and client requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to interpret design specifications and translate them into detailed schematics
- Utilize CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, and SolidWorks to create comprehensive construction drawings and schematics
- Incorporate advanced design software like SketchUp, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, and 3ds Max for visualizations and complex system modeling
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for manufacturing and construction teams, including material lists and assembly instructions
- Review project plans for accuracy and optimize designs for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain organized digital files and records of all design iterations using Bluebeam or similar PDF editing tools
Skills
- Proficiency in MiTek Truss Design software with a strong understanding of system design principles
- Skilled in CAD programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, SolidWorks; experience with Schematics is a plus
- Familiarity with SketchUp, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, 3ds Max for visualization and complex modeling tasks
- Knowledge of construction processes, interior design concepts, mechanical design principles, and graphic design fundamentals
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately while adhering to safety standards
- Strong drafting skills with attention to detail in both 2D and 3D environments
- Experience with system design software like Revit or MicroStation enhances project collaboration capabilities
